Volunteers Resources


In Fraser Health, we have hundreds of caring and committed volunteers supporting quality care in our hospitals and care centres.  Our volunteers work in an environment that is both challenging and rewarding. Working together with healthcare professionals, our volunteers contribute to the physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of patients, clients, residents and their families and friends.

As a volunteer you can make a difference AND achieve personal growth by:

Volunteers at all sites (within Fraser Health) are provided with:
  • a variety of volunteer opportunities
  • orientation, training and staff support
  • references
  • a smoke-free and scent-free environment

Areas of volunteering:

Gift Shop Day Health Hospice
One-to-one visits Spiritual Care Pet visits
Recreation programs Music Therapy Hydrotherapy

Application process:

Mandatory: Screening, interview and orientation
Requirements: Minimum age – 16 years; English proficiency, two references, a criminal record search may be required
Minimum commitment:  75 hours or 6 consecutive months
